How much is CMS into video these days? We checked out the CMS YouTube channel, which has 13,354 subscribers, a cumulative 6.8 million views, and was created in 2009. They offer 25 separate playlists on selected topics covering 355 recent videos.

During the past month alone, they have uploaded 64 videos. Their most viewed video during the past month was posted on March 4th: Medicare Quality Reporting Programs: What Eligible Professionals Need to Know in 2016 with 1,534 views as of today.

Ever notice the targeted ads that appear at the top of search results? Many of those ads click through to a video presentation. And if you're such an advertiser trying to focus on a target audience that is already predisposed to searching for, and viewing videos, you would be inclined to simply advertise your video - and do so through YouTube.

Checking out MedHeads

MedHeads from MedCityNews is a great resource for those following healthcare social media. They provide a panel discussion on selected relevant topics, streamed live on video on most Fridays at 4PM Eastern,  with archived videos available from the MedHeads site as well as on YouTube. Government Healthcare Video Activity - A Tale of Three Sites

How invested are our govenment agencies in healthcare video offerings, and how much are they being viewed? We decided to examine three sites for youtube activity during the past thirty days: CMS, Healthcare.gov and CDC. CDC cleary is deploying the most video of the three. Generally, most videos receive a low volume of views (<500 during the past 30 days). Many are technical and not intended for a wide audience. Here's the detail of what we found:
