mHealth Connect aims to improve the use of physical activity wearables and apps for clinical purposes by bringing together device and app developers with a diverse group of clinicians and researchers to seed collaborations, as well as to identify and work together to overcome key barriers.

Speakers in this year's symposium "mHealth: Moving Toward Impact" discussed the progress that is being made, as well as the real-world challenges that are limiting the impact of consumer wearables in each of their industries and ideas of how to overcome them.

Dr. Spyros Papapetropoulous’s presentation was on "Using mHealth (and Beyond) to Rewire Drug Development in Biopharma". Dr. Papapetropoulous is the Vice President and Global Development Head of Neurodegenerative Diseases and Movement Disorders at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries.

This event is organized by the Mobilize Center  and the Mobile Sensor Data-to-Knowledge Center (http://md2k.org), two of the NIH’s Big Data to Knowledge Centers of Excellence.
